The one-month deadline given to landlords to evict extra tenants living in their villas will not be extended, an official from Dubai Municipality said on Wednesday.
The new crackdown has been issued as part of the municipality's one villa-one family campaign.
“The deadline is final and will not be extended. The landlords must ensure that they don’t violate the regulations. They must make the necessary changes within 30 days,” the official told UAE daily Khaleej Times.

On Monday, Omar Mohammed Abdul Rahman, head of the Buildings Inspection Section in the municipality, had stated that the drive against families and bachelors sharing villas has been continuing for a long time.
The new deadline has left thousands of people fearing they may forced out of their homes.
If landlords fail to comply with the new rules within the deadline, the municipality would slap fines up to $13,500 on them.
The new crackdown is focusing on villas at the moment, but cases of shared flats could be taken up at a later date, officials said.
