Pinsents adds duo for Dubai real estate launchPinsent ;Masons ;is launching a property practice in Dubai with the arrival of two associates, bringing the total number of lawyers in the office to 16.
The firm has hired Philip Corfield-Smith from local firm Trench & Associates to head the practice from next month. It will also relocate one of its Leeds-based property associates, David Bowman, from November.
Sachin Kerur, who heads the Dubai office, said: “Since opening the office, with our infrastructure and construction practice, we have corporate, outsourcing, technology and commercial, and now property experience.”
The launch of the practice comes in response to a series of regulatory changes that have paved the way for commercial property investment in Dubai. The emirate now permits foreign ownership of properties in designated areas and has established its Real Estate Regulatory Authority.
Pinsents went into Dubai in 2004 through an association with Galadari & Associates and rebranded in June after setting up shop alone.
